DINOS Are Coming to Mt. Angel!
May 4-14 @ Mt. Angel Public Library--Oregon's Dino-Story (for all ages)
We are excited to bring you a variety of dino activities throughout the month of May! These include:
Oregon’s Dino-Story—an interactive museum exhibit and hands-on activities
at the Library that families can make an appointment to visit
A Dino Storywalk®
A Dino Sidewalk Obstacle Course
A Virtual Storytime
Take-home activity packets for ages 2-4 and 5-12
A Dino in the Park family event on May 15th at Humpert Park, 11:00-1:00 (more information below)

CULTURAL PASSES are again available for checkout!
The Friends of the Library have purchased cultural passes to three local attractions for Mt. Angel patrons to check out and use for FREE! Up to 5 people can attend Gilbert House Children's Museum in Salem (You must reserve a 2-hour slot). Up to 4 people can visit the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville. A carload can go to Silver Falls State Park.

Passes may be checked out  for three days (no renewals) by Mt. Angel adults (18+) with library cards in good standing

Mt. Angel Public Library has been awarded another ALA grant!
Mt. Angel Public Library has been awarded a $3000 grant from the American Library Association. The "Libraries Transforming Communities" grant will allow library staff to conduct "Community Conversations" throughout Mt. Angel to determine the city's most pressing needs and how the library can meet them. This information will form the basis of a Strategic Plan that will focus library resources and efforts to the most critical and impactful areas for the next several years. Mt. Angel Public Library is one of seventeen Oregon libraries to receive the grant, and one of 517 libraries nationwide. Click here  to read the entire press release.
DINOS in the Park
Saturday,May 15, 11:00-1:00 (by appointment) for all ages:
Join us in Humpert Park (400 Humpert St. Mt. Angel) for Dino-mite adventure for the entire family!  Explore the history of dinos in Oregon, discover what makes a dino a dino, examine dinosaur fossils, and more through hands-on exhibits, activities, take-home packets, prizes and even a dino-snack!. This free activity is brought to you by Mt. Angel Public Library, the Museum of Natural and Cultural History, and STEM Week/Remake Learning Days of Oregon. FREE.

NOTE: Because of increased COVID restrictions, the number of people at a time are limited to 50, so we will be taking reservations for entry. Please call 503.845.6401 to book your slot!
